What is Chlorella & Spirulina?
Two new age foods which contain high concentrations of whole food nutrients are the single-celled microalgae Chlorella and Spirulina. They are accepted as functional foods, which are defined as products derived from natural sources, whose consumption is likely to benefit human health and enhance performance. These foods are used as a supplement / ingredient or as a complete food to enhance the performance and state of the human body, or improve a specific bodily function. Functional foods are used mainly as products to nourish the human body after physical exertion or as a preventive measure against ailments.
There are a lot of simple foods out there, which a lot of people turn to mainly as a source of convenience such as fast food and microwavable meals. However, because of the chemical process in which these meals go through, among a lot of other harmful things to the body, they also become very acidic. Chlorella & Spirulina are both plants that grow in fresh water and are microscopic forms of algae, not the kinds of algae you can find on the side of a fish tank, but it is actually grown and harvested in large ponds and they are not chemically altered in any way. Therefore, they can be easily put into a powder, tablet or capsule form full of goodness for the body.
In association with nutrients, Chlorella and Spirulina are rich in vitamins, macro-minerals, trace minerals, essential fatty acids, protein, nucleic acids and chlorophyll. So these are both full of nutrients in which the body needs and loves to maintain a good healthy lifestyle, and because they are raw foods with no chemical process added to them, they are jam packed with goodness and your body quickly absorbs all of the nutrients straight away. They are believed to contain all the nutrients needed by the body and contain the highest amount of protein per 100 grams of any known foods, which may come as a surprise. A lot of people believe that a good steak or chicken breast is needed to help rebuild muscle and get that ‘hench’ look, but Chlorella & Spirulina are also an excellent source of protein.

By reading above, it is clear that these two supplements offer a variety of health benefits to everybody from externally boosting their appearance and making them glow, to detoxifying their insides and keeping them healthy. I would recommend anyone to take these at least once a day to not only boost physical and mental health and well being, internally and externally, but also improving on physical appearance performance and helping develop into healthier lifestyle.
